District of Columbia building codes for roof replacement
District of Columbia has no mandatory statewide residential code. What applies depends on the jurisdiction that issues the permit.
The latest DC building code is the 2017 DC Construction Codes Supplement, based on the 2015 IBC and 2015 IRC, was adopted on 5/21/2020 and became effective upon publication in the DC Register on 5/29/2020. DC has adopted IBC Appendix G - Flood-Resistant Construction.
