Florida building codes for roof replacement

Florida enforces a residential code statewide.

The current edition of the Florida Building Code is the 7th Edition, based on the 2018 IBC and 2018 IRC, and is mandated statewide. The 6th edition was based on the 2015 IBC and 2015 IRC and was effective until 12/30/2020. The Florida Building Commission has begun development of the 8th edition of the FBC, based on the 2021 IBC and IRC, with an anticipated effective date of 12/31/2023.
