Georgia building codes for roof replacement

Georgia enforces a residential code statewide.

The latest edition of the Georgia state building code is based on the 2018 IBC and IRC and is effective as of 01/01/2020. The previous edition was based on the 2012 IBC and 2012 IRC and was effective until 01/31/2020, allowing a one-month overlap with the new code for transition. As of 02/01/2020, the latest edition is mandatory statewide.
