New Mexico building codes for roof replacement
New Mexico enforces a residential code statewide.
The latest edition of the New Mexico state building code is based on the 2021 IBC with Appendix G, and the 2021 IRC, is effective as of 7/14/2023, and is mandatory statewide but with a transition period ending 12/14/2023, during which the previous code can still be used. The previous edition was based on the 2015 IBC and 2015 IRC and sunsets on 12/14/2023.
