The latest edition of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code is based on the 2024 IBC and 2024 IRC, is effective as of 12/31/2025 with no transition period, and is mandatory statewide. The previous edition was based on the 2018 IBC and 2018 IRC and was effective until 12/30/2025.
