Pennsylvania building codes for roof replacement
Pennsylvania enforces a residential code statewide.
The latest edition of Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code (UCC) is mandatory statewide and is based on the 2021 IBC and 2021 IRC, and went into effect on 1/1/2026. The previous codes were the 2018 IBC and 2018 IRC, and were effective from 02/14/2022 (with a six month transition period ending on 08/14/2022) to 12/31/2025. The previous codes before that were based on the 2015 IBC and 2015 IRC, were effective from 10/01/2018 until 08/14/2022.
