Utah building codes for roof replacement
Utah enforces a residential code statewide.
The Utah State Construction Code is currently based on the 2024 IBC (effective 7/1/2026) and the 2021 IRC (effective 7/1/2023) and is mandatory statewide. The Code was previously based on the 2021 IBC (effective from 7/1/2023 to 6/30/2026) and the 2015 IRC (effective from 7/1/2016 to 6/30/2023), and before that the 2018 IBC (effective from 7/1/2019 to 6/30/2023) and the 2012 IRC (effective from 7/1/2012 to 6/30/2016).
